Covid Reopening Expectations
The Florida Optometric Association has informed us that routine care is authorized to resume in Optometry offices as of Monday, May 4 statewide including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. While both of our locations are now open, the schedule changes week to week . Please visit our website or Facebook pages for updated information.
We hope you are doing well and look so forward to seeing you!
As many of you already know, we have been temporarily closed except for emergencies and telemedicine visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As restrictions are lifted by Governor DeSantis, we are planning our reopening for routine care slowly, while maintaining our commitment to your health and safety.
Here is how we are preparing for you:
❏ Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Optometric Association (AOA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
❏ We will be limiting the number of patients we see at any one time and during each day.
❏ We will minimize the use of the waiting room with less chairs to maintain social distancing. We have taken extra steps by removing shared items like magazines and brochures from our waiting room.
Here is what you can expect from us:
❏ Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
❏ To minimize your time and exposure in the office, we are requesting that all paperwork be done online before your appointment by going to www.palmbeacheyesight.com and clicking on “Patient Forms” in the middle of the homepage.
❏ Upon arrival for your appointment your temperature will be taken.
❏ In-office infection control measures are available for our patients, such as masks, hand sanitizers, tissues and hand soap.
Here is what we expect of you:
❏ Please wear a mask and sanitize your hands prior to entering our office. We can supply a mask for you if you don’t have one. We will require that you wash your hands before we begin the exam.
❏ If you have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual or have traveled to a geographic hot spot, please notify our staff prior to arrival.
❏ If you are experiencing temperature above normal, respiratory issues or any other symptoms of COVID-19, please notify our staff prior to arrival.
❏ To limit the overall traffic in our practice, we are asking that our patients do not bring any visitors, unless absolutely necessary.
Please check our website www.palmbeacheyesight.com for updates and to access our online scheduler. We will continue to be available for emergencies and telemedicine visits on off days so please do not
hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Stay Safe and Healthy and see you soon!
